John Lizamore
Co-founder and Director, Kemp Lizamore Attorneys
I obtained my Bcom Law (Economics and International Trade) (cum laude) and my LLB (cum laude), from the North-West University (Potchefstroom Campus). I also hold a Master’s Degree in Contract Law (Drafting and Interpretation of Contracts), obtained from the University of Johannesburg.
I commenced my legal career in Johannesburg. I completed my articles of clerkship at Werksmans Attorneys in Johannesburg. After completing my articles, I served a further two years with Werksmans as an associate in the litigation department. In 2021 I relocated to Port Elizabeth. Since relocating I have practiced at two of PE’s oldest and most established law firms. I also spent a year working as a prosecutor with the National Prosecuting Authority, before co-founding Kemp Lizamore Attorneys.
I am committed to assisting my clients whenever and wherever they need help. I thrive on the challenge of solving complex problems and always focus on finding practical, workable solutions that meet my clients’ unique needs.
For relaxation outside of work I enjoy exploring and making art. I am also a keen golfer and enjoy hiking and mountain biking.

Matthew Kemp

As a Director of Kemp Lizamore Attorneys, I bring over a decade of legal experience, including five years practicing as a Director at a well-established Port Elizabeth law firm. I hold a Master’s degree cum laude from Nelson Mandela University and am a qualified attorney with right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa. I am dedicated to delivering exceptional legal solutions with integrity and diligence.
My practice is built on a results-driven approach, ensuring that clients receive strategic and effective legal representation. At Kemp Lizamore Attorneys, we are committed to providing high-quality, client-focused legal services tailored to meet the unique needs of each matter.
Outside of work, I enjoy working out, reading, and spending time with my wife and our two dogs. My values of honesty, hard work, and professionalism guide both my legal practice and my approach to client relationships.
